Coping with the heat
Lancashire Wedding Planners provides you with their top tips on how to keep cool this summer on your wedding day

As the UK weather hots up to near record levels and the met office issues a level 2 health warning (level 3 for London and southeast England), most people would say it is exceptional.
However, with the temperamental British weather you could say you are lucky to be having a wedding in the sunshine.
But with the warm weather it is easy to forget you could be affected. A nasty sunburn is the last thing you'd want on your honeymoon.
It is important to remember to keep safe in the sun, so here are some tips for coping with the heat:
1. Drink plenty of fluids and try to avoid too much caffeine and sugary drinks. Save alcohol till later in the day.
2. Eat more regularly if you can and have meals that are balanced and light. Try to arrange for some extra fruit and salad to be put on.
3. Use umbrellas to create shade and if the weather unexpectedly turns, they’ll be there for the rain to.
4. Make use of wearing sunblock, hats and sunglasses.
5. Try to wear loose clothing and have natural fabrics for underwear e.g. cotton or silk.
6. Ladies - use moisturiser sparingly under your make-up and avoid applying it altogether to your nose and forehead if you have an oily or combination skin.
7. Avoid heavy make-up, particularly matte foundation, as it will run and leave you with a smudged look.
9.  Ask the venue if they can cover the windows to keep the heat out.
10. If the venue does not have air conditioning, consider renting a mobile unit or organising a few fans.
11. Try to stay indoors as much as possible between 11am and 4pm
12. Be alert – ask friends and family to be vigilant of the young and elderly who are more susceptible to the heat.
Drink fluids!
