Simon's at Groot Constantia wine estate
General info: Groot Constantia is one of the most famous historical monuments in South Africa. The Dutch wine estate which dates back to 1685 and was originally owned by Cape Governor Simon Van Der Stel, followed by the Cloete family, but it's not beyond the reach of those who want to get married on the wine estate. Set behind the famous Cape  is the aptly named Simon's restaurant and function room.
The advantage of getting married there, says Simon's is that it offers a 'blank canvas' venue allowing couples to create a personalised theme or décor style.



Location: It is in close proximity to Cape Town.

Capacity: The private function room can cater for up to 180 guests with no dancing and 150 people with a dance floor.

How much: The venue hire is R8,000. Simon's has a fully licensed bar and a selected wine list. For wines provided by a function client it charges a R40 corkage fee per bottle of wine, R50 per bottle of sparkling wine and R70.00 per bottle of Champagne. A 10% service charge is added to all beverage and bills including corkage.

Food: Couples can choose from Simon's set or buffet menu (see below). Canapés can also be provided.
