The Steenberg Hotel & Catharina's Restaurant
General info: Steenberg, which nestles in the Constantia Valley, is a twenty minute drive from the heart of Cape Town and the buildings date back to 1682. The buildings have been restored and declared national monuments.
The name 'Steenberg' means 'Mountain of Stone', however the original name has a more romantic name of 'Swaaneweide' meaning 'The Feeding Place of the Swans'. According to its website, the first owner Catharina Ras could have derived the original name from her former home in Lubeck on the Baltic coast of Germany or possibly that Swans did come drink from the farm's waters. It has a boutique hotel and an 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Peter Matkovich.

No venue fee will be raised for the ceremony.
Dinner will be served in Catharinafs Restaurant. There is no venue fee unless the restaurant is exclusively requested for under 60 people.
Accommodation is charged at contract rates and is subject to availability.
How much: R6200.00 Nett (excluding accommodation). Bookings are secured by a non refundable deposit of 50% of the contracted value. The outstanding balance must be paid 14 days prior to the wedding date.
What the package includes:
Minister (please see details below). Legalization of wedding by a licensed marriage office that can conduct weddings in German, Dutch or English. The minister will cover the ceremony, registration of marriage, marriage certificate, application for an un-abridged copy of the marriage certificate, application for an apostille for memberstates of the Hague Convention, 2 trips to Home Affairs, one trip to the court and registered mail to send certificates to Europe. There will be a non refundable deposit of R 500.00 to secure the services of the minister.

Wedding ceremonies can be accommodated up to 20 ceremonies, venue fee applies.
Menu:
Set menus are offered for parties of more than eight people. A service fee of 12% is charged on the total food and drinks bill on parties of more than eight people.
Music:
Unfortunately the venue cannot accommodate amplified music and dancing, in consideration of hotel guests and due to limited space.
