The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa
It's been showered with awards and voted Africa's second best hotel in the Conde Naste Traveller Awards (2008), and it's easy to see why. The five star boutique hotel is tucked away at the bottom of Table Mountain between Camps Bay and Llandadno and offers the best romantic views and good service.
It's isolated, which is great if you want peace and quiet, but yet not to far from the heart of the city (about 15 minutes). It also faces the Atlantic - a plus for me as I love watching the ocean and sunsets.

For sunbathers it boasts a rock pool and a heated infinity pool which overlooks the ocean. If you want to pamper yourself, the hotel has a spa that has a full array of luxury treatments, with many based on indigenous fynbos flora. You can also enjoy open air treatments in shady gazebo's set in the mountain.
If it's fine dining you are after, look no further than the hotel's Azure restaurant and Leopard Room Bar. We dined at the Azure restaurant. I tucked into the Yellow Tail fish dish, which was cooked to perfection. If seafood is not to your liking, the restaurant does offer other indiginous and international cuisine.
Our stay at the hotel was a brilliant, relaxing experience. Nothing was too much for the staff and they were always polite, friendly and helpful.
