Flowers
Ask your venue for their recommended list of suppliers. They usually have florists on their lists.
Ask friends and family if they recommend anyone.
Scour the internet, there are many florists that have their own website. If their website looks professional, and if they show good examples of their work, get in touch and ask for a quote.
You can also look through your telephone directory and look at bridal magazines. Many florists take out ads in both.
Remember to shop around. This is your wedding and you need to find the best supplier possible and comparing florists based on their style, quotes and professionalism is the best way to go about it.
Before you see your florist:
Get an idea of the type of flowers you want and the design of your bouquet and flower arrangements that will adorn your tables.
You will get a better result from your florist if they know what you are after - take photos of flowers you like or tear out pictures of magazines.
If you have them already, take samples of materials of your wedding dress, your bridesmaid's and groom's outfit.
Remeber: The first meeting with your florist, or any supplier for your wedding, should be a good experience. You have to like them personally as you will be working with them in the run-up to your wedding. Having a good working relationship will make things a lot smoother in the long run.

WFS Guide:
1. Buy good quality flowers and greenery. For variety, buy at least 3-4 different types of flowers and one type of greenery.
2. Ensure you buy some 'ornamental' flowers which will be the impact or focal point of your bunch, for example roses, gerbera.
3. Clean off the bottom half of the stems of both the flowers and the foliage. Once the stems have been cleaned divide your materials into neat piles.
4. Start off with one of your big impact flowers and hold it in one hand.
5. Using your impact flower as a reference point, pick flowers from your other piles and arrange them so that their stems cross over with your impact flower's stem. Take something from each pile and alternate your material as you work. Remember to add some foliage in between your flowers.
6. When you have finished, place your bouquet carefully down on the table and hold them firm with one hand. With the other take your piece of string and tied the stems securely together.
7. Hold the bunch upside down, squeeze the stems together and cut them evenly.
8. Get some coloured crepe paper (about 1x times the size of your bouquet) and place it on to celophane. Divide in half and cut the layers of paper.
9. Fold each sheet diagonally, so that the corners form a 'V' shape, and then staple the sheets in place at the bottom.
10. Hold the bouquet upside down and put the sheets over the bouquet, with the stapled part at the bottom, so that it envelopes the bunch. Celotape the sheets where they meet.
11. Tie a coloured ribbon around the stems (making sure to cover the string).

What you need:
Between 3-4 different types of flowers and one type of foliage. Crepe paper, celophane, sharp scissors, sacreteurs, celotape, string, ribbon
