BHS Wedding has provided what most brides need this year - the ability to buy a dress and shoes on a budget. Dresses can cost thousands of pounds but this whole outfit (pictured right) costs just £100.
Thrifty brides can pay £20 for the Duchess satin bodice, £50 for the A-line skirt and £30 for embellished shoes.

It pays to be on the constant lookout. Last year Marks & Spencer (M&S) also cut the prices of some of its wedding dresses down to £15 as it tried to clear out stock.
“The cost of gowns is without doubt going to be affected by the credit crunch but we will find that it is the types of material that will change and the extras used to decorate the gown, e.g. sequins, beads, lace etc will be reduced and that will make the difference in the price for brides. Plainer and simpler designs will be more common,” says wedding planner Mark Norton-Noon of Lancashire Wedding Planners.
